Memphis Black Arts Summit

This day and half long summit puts local artists in the same room with notable artists in the fields of music (David Porter), film (Alton Glass), stage (Harry Lennix), literature (Jeffery Renard Allen), and fine art (Floyd Newsum).

There's a panel discussion with philanthropists and organizations that fund the arts, and another panel with agencies that contract with artists. There will be addresses from artists leading the field in Memphis; Linda Steele will address the importance of art in our communities; and there will be a breakout session for next steps of action for the local Black artists community.

$50 admission covers one ticket to 'Jitney' and entrance to the afterparty on Friday, May 11, 2018, along with breakfast, lunch, and dinner on Saturday, May 12, 2018.
