Hattiloo Theatre is looking for friendly, helpful, customer service-oriented individuals to join our theatre team. We aim to provide a welcoming, and respectful atmosphere for patrons and the Theatre Associate is key to delivering that experience. In addition to selling tickets, subscriptions, and concessions, this position will assist with maintaining a clean theatre.

Request for Proposals: Marketing & Communications Contractor

Hattiloo Theatre seeks a proactive marketing professional to execute and enhance an existing marketing plan covering Season 19 subscriptions, The Boy Who Kissed the Sky, the HBCU Summer Stock Program, and Camp Awareness.

Scope of Work

  • Build and manage relationships to drive ticket sales and program participation.
  • Coordinate logistics for scheduled special events to maximize engagement.
  • Increase subscription sales, event participation, social media engagement, and youth program enrollment.
  • Collaborate with Hattiloo’s contracted marketing firm to align efforts.
  • Success will be evaluated through ticket sales, audience participation, social media analytics, and patron surveys.

Support & Resources Provided

To ensure success, Hattiloo will provide:

  • Marketing materials and creative assets for campaigns.
  • Office space at the theatre, including a phone and computer.
  • Access to staff and program directors for collaboration.
  • A database of past audiences and community contacts for outreach.
  • Administrative support for scheduling and event coordination.

Compensation & Timeline

  • Start Date: April 8, 2025
  • Duration: 10 weeks
  • Compensation: $7,500 in biweekly installments
  • Potential for a full-time Marketing and Communications Manager role.

Job Title: Theatre Associate

Full Time or Part Time: Part-time (18 hours a week minimum. Primarily daytime. Some weekends.)
Reports To: Theatre Manager
Terms of Employment: At Will
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Pay: $17/hour

Assists in the following:

  • Transport props and light scenery to and from Hattiloo’s technical theatre center to the theatre.
  • Organization of backstage areas, tech deck, and technical theatre center.
  • Production events including auditions and cast parties. 
  • Box office operations including selling tickets and taking reservations.
  • Front of house duties including checking in of guests, support of patrons with additional needs.
  • External and internal events including set-up, hosting, and breakdown.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Three years of customer service experience.
  • Criminal background check.
  • Capacity to learn new computer software systems.
