Hattiloo is more than a theatre. It is a creative home built to sustain the future of Black artists in Memphis. Our spaces are designed to support storytelling, artistic exploration, and community connection. From large-scale productions to intimate gatherings, each space plays a role in expanding access, creating opportunity, and building a lasting cultural legacy.
Café Loo
Open one hour before the shows begin
Café Loo is a welcoming space to relax, recharge, and connect. Whether you are meeting friends, working remotely, or unwinding before a show, Café Loo offers a comfortable environment with coffee, wine, snacks, and free WiFi.
The café features select offerings from local Black-owned businesses and occasionally hosts light entertainment, adding to its warm and inviting atmosphere. Café Loo is designed as an everyday gathering space where community and culture meet.
Patiloo
Patiloo extends the Hattiloo experience outdoors, offering a flexible courtyard space for gathering and connection.
Ideal for pre-show conversations, post-show moments, and special events, Patiloo creates an open, accessible environment where audiences and artists can engage in a more relaxed setting.
Second Stage
Second Stage is an intimate 88-seat performance space that expands what is possible at Hattiloo.
This space allows for more productions, more artists, and more opportunities to share diverse stories. It supports emerging voices, experimental work, and deeper audience engagement while strengthening Hattiloo’s impact across Memphis and the region.
Main Stage
The Main Stage is where Hattiloo’s largest productions come to life.
This space anchors our artistic work, presenting powerful performances that reflect the depth and richness of Black experiences. It is a place where stories are fully realized and shared with audiences in meaningful and memorable ways.
Culture Box
The Culture Box is an upscale lounge and creative hub in the heart of the city, designed for connection, expression, and celebration. Formerly Hattiloo’s black box theatre, this reimagined space now hosts weekly programming including live music, comedy, spoken word, DJs, and curated cultural events.
The Culture Box expands Hattiloo’s reach beyond traditional theatre by creating new ways for audiences to engage with the arts. It also serves as a platform for Black artists to explore their craft, connect with audiences, and shine in a vibrant, welcoming environment.
Art Gallery
Hattiloo’s Art Gallery features work created exclusively by local Black artists.
Integrated into the Hattiloo experience, the gallery offers a space for visual storytelling that complements live performance. It highlights the creativity and talent within the community while providing artists with visibility and opportunity.
