TWO MONTH RESIDENCY

#BlkRenaissance901 is a structured residency and incubator designed to support Black Memphis-based artists in developing and producing a fully realized, public-facing concept.

The submission window for this residency cycle is now closed.

Thank you to every artist who submitted a proposal for this first cycle. The response to #BlkRenaissance901 has been strong, and we are taking the next step with care as the residency moves into committee review.

Next Steps

The selection committee will review submitted proposals and identify finalists for the next phase of the process.

Finalists will be contacted directly once selections are made. From there, finalists will receive details about the in-person pitch process.

Following the pitch process, one resident will be selected for this residency cycle.

The selected resident will move into a two-month development period with mentorship, production support, structured planning, and preparation for a public-facing activation at Hattiloo Theatre.

Participants are expected to actively engage throughout the full residency period. This includes concept development, planning, marketing, production preparation, and scheduled check-ins.
