Experience Rwanda through the lens of cinema at Hattiloo Theatre!

We’re bringing international storytelling to the screen for a special evening of Rwandan film as part of our Bridging Worlds International Theatre Festival. This is an opportunity to experience filmmaking from another part of the world, discover new cultural perspectives, and connect with stories that speak to familiar human experiences.

Our featured film, Phiona, A Girl from Madrid, explores the complexities of identity and returning home. After spending three years isolated from the outside world, Phiona returns to find that a conversation with her cousin takes an unexpected turn, challenging their relationship and bringing her past decisions into question.

Whether you’re passionate about international cinema or simply looking for something different to experience in Memphis, we invite you to join us at Hattiloo for an evening of Rwandan storytelling on screen.
