This must-see musical, inspired by Langston Hughes’s 1960 Broadway production, brings the holiday spirit to life with hand-clapping, toe-tapping, and finger-snapping joy for Hattiloo’s 20th anniversary. We’ve taken it to the next level with the powerful Hattiloo Mass Choir, directed and choreographed by award-winning Patdro Harris, who also reimagined the script.

This heartwarming holiday favorite retells the Nativity story with a fresh spin, featuring new sets, costumes, and choreography. The production blends gospel music, dramatic dance, and biblical narrative into a joyous celebration. With the booming, melodic voices of some of Memphis’ finest gospel singers, Black Nativity is a vibrant reimagining of the birth of Jesus, steeped in the rich tradition of gospel style.

Telling a timeless story through the soul-stirring power of music, Black Nativity is a powerful, festive production that will move and uplift you- an unforgettable celebration of faith, family, and the spirit of the season.
